Brahamtal Trek

Brahmatal Trek is a celestial lake located 3,444 meters above sea level, hidden in the Himalayan meadows. The summit of Brahmatal Trek is at 3,718 meters. During winter, from December to March, Brahmatal Lake is entirely frozen. All trekking routes to Brahmatal have snow-covered trails, and the summit crown of Brahmatal is snow-capped. Trekkers can easily reach the snow-covered peak of Brahmatal without difficulty.

During the trek, you may encounter a variety of wildlife, including Barasingha and Himalayan foxes, White bear, Himalayan wild goat (Black & white), Ibex/Thar, as well as Himalayan wild goat (Black & White), Ibex/Thar, which licks the mountain slopes to disperse medicinal juice of Shilajeet, Katukki… Monal, an effervescent Bird in Uttarakhand, welcomes you into the mountains with feathers in a rainbow palette. These encounters with nature’s wonders make the trek even more memorable.

Day Zero

January 24 (Friday Night)
Delhi to Rishikesh

By Bus

After completing our day jobs, Start your joyful journey to the mountains with an overnight stay on the bus. 

Sustainable Angle: A sustainability briefing will ensure no one is carrying harmful items that could impact the environment.

January 25 (Saturday)
Rishikesh to Lohajung

(Drive: 210 km, Duration: 8 hours, Altitude: 7600 ft)

Drive to Lohajung which takes about 9-10 hours from Rishikesh / Kathgodam with stunning views of high altitude peaks like Trishul, Maiktoli, Nanda Devi, Ghori Parvat, Nanda Khat, Hathi Parvat, and Ghori Parvat.

Take a small halt at “Teen Dhara” for refreshments and capture the moment as the views here are seriously unforgettable.

Sustainable Angle: We'll clean up the basecamp, discuss new trek slogans, and give each participant a sustainable kit.

January 26 (Sunday)
Lohajung to Bekaltal

(Trek: 6 km, Duration: 5 hrs, Altitude: 9875 ft)

The first day of the trek starts from Lohajung to Bekaltal which takes about 4-5 hours. Get up early in the morning, have breakfast and get ready to begin. Just beside Lohajung follow the ascending human-made stone trek. Along the way, you would encounter some startling views of the Nanda Ghunti Peak.

Sustainable Angle: During the trek, we'll discuss sustainability and engage in sloganeering, raising awareness among other groups and local communities.

January 27 (Monday)
Bekaltal to Brahamtal
(Trek: 7 km, Duration: 6 hrs, Altitude: 10,500 ft)

It takes about 5-6 hours to reach Brahmatal from Bekaltal Campsite. The trail starts steeply into the Oak and Rhododendron forest which leads to the meadow of Telandi top. In the winter, you will see the meadow of Telandi turns into a vast snowfield and crossing the area, a gala of thrill. Reach campsite have meal with your whole group.

Sustainable Angle: We'll dedicate time to appreciating nature, identifying one remarkable aspect of it. We'll review any personal sustainability missteps and address them with understanding, discussing how to avoid them in the future.

January 28 (Tuesday)
Brahamtal Camp to Brahamtal Top to Daldum

(Trek: 9 km, Duration: 8 hrs, Altitude: 12,200 ft)

Get up early by 05:00 AM, have breakfast and get ready to climb to the top of Brahmatal. Along the way, it would be all ascents. We would pass through some treacherous trails at Chota Jhandidar and Bada Jhandidar. After having breakfast, start walking to Lohajung from Brahmatal followed by some steep descending trail. • It takes 4-5 hours to trek down to Daldum through thick oak and rhododendron forests once again.

Sustainable Angle: We'll engage in plogging and sloganeering and work closely with local communities to promote environmental awareness.

January 29 (Wednesday)
Daldum to Rishikesh via Lohajung (Night bus to Delhi)

(Drive: 210 km, Duration: 9 hrs)

Depart from Daldum to Rishikesh Bus Station early in the morning, preferably before 06:30 AM since the journey takes 8-9 hours. • Expected to reach Rishikesh by 06:00 PM.

     Cost and Inclusions     

The total cost for the Brahamtal trek amounts to a Total of 8500 rupees (Delhi to Delhi), with the expenses distributed across several categories to ensure a comprehensive and enjoyable experience. This cost is inclusive of several essential services that enhance the trekking experience: it covers all vegetarian meals to keep trekkers well-nourished, travel expenses within the trek, the expertise of an experienced guide to navigate the trails safely, and accommodation to ensure comfortable rest after each day's journey. This ensures a comfortable and convenient journey to and from the starting point of the trek, allowing participants to begin and end their adventure without the stress of arranging their own transportation.

Furthermore, 500 rupees is set aside for additional purposes that enhance the overall experience and contribute to the local community. This portion of the budget acts as a contingency fund for emergencies, ensuring that trekkers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances. It also includes funds for purchasing gifts for villagers and stationery for students in Himachal. This social aspect of the trek allows participants to engage with the local community in a meaningful way, providing a sense of fulfilment and pride. By donating gifts to the people who live in the mountains, trekkers not only bring joy to the villagers but also enrich their own experience through these acts of kindness and community support.

Overall, the distribution of the trek's cost ensures a well-rounded adventure that balances personal enjoyment with social responsibility, creating a memorable and impactful journey for all participants. Please note that Trek equipment rent is not included in the cost.

Participants who complete the Brahamtal trek will receive a certificate of completion to commemorate their journey and celebrate their achievements. Additionally, they will receive a live Polaroid photo captured at Brahamtal trek, preserving a tangible memory of their adventure. A travel-sized A5 portrait featuring a group photo will also be given, perfect for displaying on a wall or work desk as a memento. To promote sustainability, participants will be gifted an eco-friendly item useful during the trek, aligning with the ethos of responsible travel. Furthermore, they will enjoy a one-year membership to the Tears of the Earth Foundation, supporting environmental causes and connecting them with a community dedicated to preserving our planet.

  • Sun Protection Lotion (SPF-60), Lip Bam.

  • Bring basic medicines like Painkillers, Fever, Vomiting, Cold, etc.

Note

  • Bring food from Delhi for breakfast in Rishikesh.

  • Bring a small steel glass

  • Carry ORS, Glucon-D, or Electrolyte in case you suffer from water deficiency.

  • Don't consume or bring any carbonated drink before 24hrs as it will cause water deficiency in your body.

  • Bring camphor (Kapoor) with you, it will help you breathe at low oxygen levels.

  • Everybody needs to stay in the group during the whole trek.

  • Do not bring any plastic items or plastic wraps.

  • In case you have any plastic item make sure to carry it back with you till Delhi.

  • Do not throw any item anywhere during the entire trek.

  • Do not bring any smoking or alcoholic items otherwise you will face difficulty while breathing on the on high altitudes because of low oxygen levels.
