Earth Day Festival 2022

The Earth Day Festival, co-led by Tears of the Earth and The Dais, has been a vibrant platform for environmental awareness and action since its inception in 2021. This annual festival brings together diverse partners and communities from around the globe to celebrate Earth Day and address pressing environmental challenges through collaboration, education, and innovation.

Over the years, the festival has featured expert panel discussions, policy dialogues, climate simulation workshops, SDG Lab initiatives like campus clean-ups, and advancements in material science to combat plastic pollution. It also highlights the mental health impacts of environmental issues through initiatives like Humanising Lives and engages youth in meaningful conversations about sustainability.

The fifth edition of the Earth Day Festival, scheduled for 2025, will commemorate the 55th anniversary of Earth Day. This milestone event promises to further amplify its mission of fostering global partnerships and driving collective efforts toward a sustainable future.

Sustainable Bhava

Sustainable Bhava, supported by Tears of The Earth, is a youth-led collaborative project initiated by Ecoistic Pathshala. Its primary objective is to educate and raise awareness among children about the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The project targets children aged 7-16, aiming to foster a culture of sustainability and social responsibility through engaging storytelling sessions. By focusing explicitly on educating and involving children, Sustainable Bhava strives to instill a deep understanding of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The vision of Sustainable Bhava is to create a world where every young person comprehends the significance of sustainability and actively contributes to shaping a better future for all. Its mission is to educate children on the importance of sustainability and the SDGs, inspiring them to take meaningful action toward building a more sustainable and equitable world.

Young Leaders for Climate Action

Hosted by The Dais, Tears of the Earth, Lawngitude, and Earth Day Network, India, and supported by Indie Stori and Green Saviours, the Young Leaders for Climate Action Fellowship is a comprehensive program on Learning and Action. The initiative, led by The Dais in collaboration with several partners, is set to commence in January and will conclude in August, coinciding with International Youth Day 2022. It is open to youth aged 16 to 25 from South Asia.

The fellowship program comprises three distinct phases. In the first phase, participants will receive an overview of climate change and explore ways in which youth can actively contribute to addressing environmental challenges. Subsequently, in the second phase, participants will have the opportunity to delve deeper into a specific track of interest chosen by them, such as Advocacy, Campaigning, Research Collaborations, Grassroots Mobilization, Education, Literacy, Sensitisation, Innovation, Thought Leadership, Governance, and International Cooperation. Finally, in the third phase, participants will collaborate with organizations working on relevant tracks identified during Phase 2. Through hands-on experience and mentorship, participants will lead initiatives aimed at addressing climate-related issues within their communities.

The Young Leaders for Climate Action Fellowship seeks to empower young individuals to become agents of change in the fight against climate change. By providing knowledge, skills, and practical experience, the program aims to inspire and mobilize youth to take meaningful action towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
